Favourite Foods Turned Vegan

Hey everyone! I’m making this post to help YOU shop for vegan foods and still be able to enjoy your favourites. For the past few months, I’ve just eaten regular plant based foods; lots of fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, beans, etc. BUT recently, since I’ve been getting my family more into eating plant based foods, we have been buying more and more.. how should I say it.. “normal” foods turned vegan. For instance burgers, pizza, cheese, ice-cream, etc. These ‘average’ foods that people eat on a regular basis that normally contain meat, dairy and eggs, are now being made VEGAN!! YAYYY.

I took this photo today after I got home from the grocery store. As I said above, I usually just eat naturally plant based foods. BUT since I am sorta getting my mom and dad to transition (slightly kinda maybe) I bought all of these foods! It’s easier for people to make the transition to vegan when they can have easy access foods, and foods that they are already used to. Admit it- it’s kind of a big switch to go from eating meat, milk, cheese, eggs, and so much more, to fruits, veggies and other plant based foods. So in order to make that transition easier, I highly recommend buying this kinda stuff when you go shopping. (Unless you’re like me where the transition was easy.)

Pictured is the following:

  • 2 boxes of vegan pizza (whole wheat crust, tofu meat, daiya cheese, and vegetables.
  • 1 box of Lara Bars (the best vegan bar – they are literally just made from dates and nuts)
  • 2 boxes of quinoa
  • 2 jars of peanut butter
  • 2 Vega bars
  • 1 container of SoDelicious vanilla coconut yogurt
  • 1 container of SoDelicious chocolate coconut ice-cream (these are ‘dairy’ products made with coconut milk rather than cow’s milk)

This was my first time trying actual vegan ice-cream (besides my homemade one) and it was DELICIOUS! So creamy and light, it tasted like regular old ice-cream. mmmmm

The Tofu pizza is so good to. My family and I had one for dinner the other night and everyone swore it tasted identical to actual pizza.

Everything can be made vegan

Just remember that all of the foods you eat currently CAN be made vegan. Just go to local groceries nearby and I can guarantee if not all of them, then most of them will have an organic and/or gluten free aisle.

Today I went to the Superstore (here in Canada) and I was in awe. The aisle was huge and FULL of all the foods that I love. It was a vegan’s paradise. Here are some photos I took to show you just how many foods you love can be made vegan.

Oh and don’t even get me started on Tofurky. They make pretty much every single kind of meat-less meal that you can imagine! They got chicken, sausage, meatloaf, hot dogs, meat pie, I COULD GO ON FOREVER! If you love your meat but want to go vegan, FRET NO MORE!

And veggie burgers!!

I’m telling you, going vegan is not hard at all, trust me. I used to eat all the regular stuff: burgers, chicken, steak, scrambled eggs, ice-cream, Greek yogurt, quest bars, etc. But don’t ever say ‘I could never do that’ until you try, because I used to think the exact same way – and now look at me!

This world is full of beautiful foods that mother nature has provided for us! And if you need a bit of help from man-made vegan food to ease you into your transition, then that’s 100% okay.

    I wish I lived in Canada or America! The foods are so much easier to get hold of and cheaper too! This all looks so yum and I want to try coconut ice cream so bad xx
